The Self-Remodeling of the Bai Daben Ballad under Digital Media

Abstract: The performance characteristics of oral art reserve space for its creative development based on tradition. With the
presentation and dissemination of Douyin and WeChat, the Bai Daben ballad has expanded from village to the network space. The way
that short videos, live network broadcasts and WeChat songs present are close to people's daily behaviors, making the media
performance become the form expansion and function continuation of the village singing, and activating the tradition of the performance
of the big song, which was previously in a semi-silent state. The people integrate the local cultural factors into the Bai Daben ballad
image, and concretely reproduce the cultural landscape of a specific region. Relying on the open pattern of cyberspace, folk art can
enjoy and learn from each other and move towards a wonderful realm of respecting cultural diversity.
